From what I’ve seen, majority of people are just actors in life. They all play a part. A part that society expects them to play. Want proof? Well, look around. How many people do you see that’s wearing the latest trends? How many people do you see that acts like a “normal” person? Why is it that people settle for being just actors? Is it that difficult to truly be yourself? Sure, there have been claims like “I am being myself” here and there, but how are you sure that you’re being you? Thing is, people does not see that they follow the norms. Its instinctive that the norms of society is followed. However, there are norms that are far unnecessary that we follow. Norms like following the latest trends in fashion and lifestyle are what makes people actors in Life. The fact that people try to fit in, I believe, is a crime in society. From differences, emerges innovations. From what we label as weird, emerges geniuses. Basically, the world would never be different if we never had people who are different. We would still be living like medieval people. I know that this might not be something interesting to read, since a lot of hype is revolving around clothes, music, and other interests in Tumblr. I just want to point out that the difference in knowing who you are and actually being who you are is that you can face all the stereotypes, insults, and negative perceptions that society is giving you. So all in all, if you do tell the world that you’re being yourself, well quit the bullshitting. Unless you were able to face society’s wrath towards your true personality, then you’ll only have the rights to say that “I’m being who I truly am.”
