Wrote this just for her.
RIP Marlene “Eli” Elizabeth Aguirre
With this one verse I plan to express all the feelings I held
At first when I heard the news I was perplexed and compelled
I just can’t believe that a tragedy like this would be real
Why did God have to take you early, why couldn’t he leave you with us still
This pain is unbearable
Being so distant, not being able
To see you one more day before going to Heaven
But all I can do now is pray and pray
And reminisce to all the times we had, the good days
Whether it be when we up in the Peaks
Or when in Pinole for bonfires at the beach
Back then it was a blast for us to burn them trees
Now that you’re gone, you’re higher than any of us could reach
It’s hard for me to tell you to rest in peace
Because I refuse to believe that you were taken from us so instantly
I wish I had the chance to say goodbye
Before you departed from this mortal world, we reside
It’s hard to release all my emotions inside
Because I can’t stop reminiscing to all the good times
Back when you smile and have joy in your eyes
It’s a given that I don’t speak for myself with these lines
But we miss you and love you Eli, rest in paradise
You’ll always stay close to this heart of mines.
